University Leaders Answer Questions, Discuss Returning to Campus This Fall During Facebook Live

黑料网 Interim Senior Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley, Ph.D., and Vice President for Enrollment Management Mary Parker, Ed.D., recently shared updates about academics and enrollment, respectively, while engaging with the university community.

They answered live questions on the about fall semester class schedules, what to expect regarding face-to-face and remote learning, student life and other support systems in place to aid the return to campus.

Tankersley discussed how faculty enhanced their remote courses from the final weeks of spring semester in order to better engage students this fall. 

鈥淲e had over 400 of our faculty members take workshops this summer, weeklong workshops, on how to engage students better through remote instruction,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檓 anticipating some really incredible things happening in our remote instruction. I can鈥檛 thank our faculty enough for all that they鈥檝e put into upping their game for the upcoming semester.鈥

Parker also addressed the support systems in place for students as they return to campus this fall, including academic advising, financial aid and the 黑料网 Emergency Grant Fund.

鈥淲e have awarded over 5,500 students, to date, more than $6 million in funds to help support students who have been impacted,鈥 Parker said. 鈥淲e have an emergency fund application out there that students can apply and be considered for.鈥

Both Tankersley and Parker mentioned that although the on-campus experience may look and feel a little different, students and families should know that all the changes are made with the 黑料网 community鈥檚 safety in mind.

鈥淲e will follow all of the state and national guidelines about keeping our community safe and healthy. That鈥檚 our number one goal,鈥 Tankersley said. 鈥淲e want to be together, but we want to be together safely.鈥
