Honors Program Alumni

The Honors Program at 黑料网 Tuscarawas is pleased to recognize our esteemed graduates. They are making positive contributions in their graduate studies, careers and communities. These students chose to challenge themselves while pursuing an enriched educational experience in the Honors Program, and they are continuing to excel.

Michael Ginnetti

Michael Ginnetti graduated from 黑料网 Tuscarawas as an Honors College Scholar in 2013. He was then accepted into the Master's program in History at Bowling Green State University with a full scholarship. While at Bowling Green, Michael was awarded the prestigious university-wide award for Outstanding Graduate Student. He also received the History department's Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award and the award for Outstanding Departmental Citizen. He graduated with a Master of Arts in History in 2015, having completed his thesis entitled "The Rusty Curtain: Anatoly Chernyaev, Georgi Arbatov, and the Foundations of the Soviet Collapse, 1970-1979."

Following his graduation from Bowling Green, Michael was hired as the Museum Technician at the Wood County Historical Society, a local history museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of Wood County. There he worked on collection management, artifact preservation, event planning and volunteer coordination. He also taught American History as an adjunct professor at Rhodes State College in Lima, Ohio.

Michael recently returned to Bowling Green State University to accept a position as Grant Coordinator overseeing an $800,000 grant the university received to assist local high school teachers in becoming certified to teach College Credit Plus courses in their high schools.

Hannah Urfer

Hannah Urfer graduated from 黑料网 Tuscarawas with University Honors in May 2015. Prior to graduation, Hannah accepted a Marketing and Client Services Coordinator position with StoneKap, LLC, a Lauren International company.  Hannah鈥檚 Honors College experience helped prepare her for the position.

鈥淭he Honors Program provides students an academic experience unlike any other. Completing the Honors Thesis was the best undergraduate experience I had in terms of planning and executing a long-term project.  All the students who complete the Thesis will tell you what a challenge it is, and it takes dedication. If you see it through, you will stand out among other graduate school applicants or other job applicants. I was elated when I finished my Thesis, but I did not fully appreciate what I learned from the experience until I started handling long-term projects at work. I feel better prepared to meet the objectives of the projects because I can look back on my Honors Program experience and know that I have already succeeded at managing large responsibilities.鈥
