For a third consecutive year, ºÚÁÏÍø has been selected as one the nation’s top universities for LGBTQ+ students for creating a safe, welcoming environment for students, faculty and staff, according to Campus Pride, a leading resource for LGBTQ+ leadership development, diversity inclusion and advocacy within higher education.

ºÚÁÏÍø Named One of the Nation’s Most LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities by Campus Pride

Campus Pride has released its 2021 Best of the Best LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities list, and for the second time in two years, ºÚÁÏÍø has landed on it. ºÚÁÏÍø is the only Ohio public university to make the 2021 list, and it again is the only school in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) to receive this recognition.

The Akron Community Foundation has awarded the QUEST Mentorship Program, an initiative within the LGBTQ+ Center that provides 1:1 mentor/mentee relationships for students to focus on career guidance and general support, a $2,000 micro-grant for the coming year.

In a month synonymous with cupid, hearts and chocolates, it seems fitting that ºÚÁÏÍø’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Plus (LGBTQ+) Center is celebrating 10 years of love. The celebration began on Valentine’s Day and will extend through the end of the year.

ºÚÁÏÍø’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Plus (LGBTQ+) Center holds a safe, physically distant small group kickoff event at the start of the 2020 Fall Semester. 

Campus Pride has released its 2020 Best of the Best LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities list, and for the first time in school history, ºÚÁÏÍø has landed on the distinctive list as one of 40 institutions recognized over six U.S. regions.
