Over the past several weeks, ºÚÁÏÍø faculty and staff, along with a select group of students, have traveled to Kigali, Rwanda, taking part in a host of educational programs and cultural exchange.

The founder of the Aegis Trust delivered the keynote address at the ºÚÁÏÍø-sponsored global peace conference in Rwanda.

Peace Education in an Era of Crisis, a global peace conference dedicated to promoting peace through education, opened Tuesday, July 11, in Kigali, Rwanda, with delegates from throughout the United States and 14 countries participating.

On July 10, ºÚÁÏÍø students visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which serves as a place of remembrance and education, during the ºÚÁÏÍø Kigali Summer Institute, a three-week education-abroad experience that includes the course Rwanda After the Genocide Against the Tutsi.

ºÚÁÏÍø graduate Pacifique Niyonzima, who as a child survived the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, is now back living in Rwanda leading ºÚÁÏÍø’s outreach efforts there.
