ºÚÁÏÍø President Todd Diacon announced Thursday that Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., has been selected to serve as vice president for student affairs, effective May 1, 2020. On Friday, Jan. 24, members of the ºÚÁÏÍø community and the general public gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The university’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration started at 4 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. This year’s keynote speaker was Melissa Harris-Perry, Ph.D., the Maya Angelou Presidential Chair at Wake Forest University, television host, author and political commentator.
Steve Harvey, producer, actor, author and former ºÚÁÏÍø student, is paying it forward by awarding eight of ºÚÁÏÍø’s incoming freshmen with scholarships that will cover the total cost of attendance for each student.
A national organization has recognized ºÚÁÏÍø with a perfect overall score for the university’s efforts to create a more inclusive campus and welcoming environment for all.
