In 2016, ºÚÁÏÍø took a major step toward its commitment to research and putting students first. In September of that year, the Division of Research and Economic Development formed the Office of Student Research. Research Vice President Paul DiCorleto said the office better positions RAED to carry out the university’s strategic priorities.
ºÚÁÏÍø students Nilin Rao, Ph.D., and Craig Verdin, and Exercise Science and Physiology Professor Ellen Glickman, are the co-founders of TheraPod Medical, LLC — a wound-care company that is looking to transform the field of podiatric medicine.

Ten years ago, Nirmala Ghimirey sat on the dirt floor of a hut in a refugee camp in Nepal, holding a tattered textbook in her hands. Today, she holds an honors degree from ºÚÁÏÍø, where she’s enrolled in a Biomedical Sciences graduate program, working toward her next contribution to cancer research.
