Repeatable for Credit
Courses may be designated to allow students to repeat them to earn credit hours each time. A repeatable-for-credit course offers a different instructional experience and learning outcomes for students each time they take it. Examples may include practicum, internship, international experiences and competency- or skill-based courses (e.g., violin course, theatre production).
Courses that are variable-content seminar (xxx91), variable-topics workshop (xxx93), special topics (xxx95) individual investigation (xxx96), variable-content colloquium (xxx97 - except for UC 10097), research (xxx98) and thesis/dissertation (6x199, 6x299, 8x199, 8x299) are designated as repeatable for credit.
If faculty wish to restrict the number of attempts or credit hours of a repeatable-for-credit course toward a specific program, they should submit a program revision proposal to include that restriction in the requirements for program completion.
