Hear to Help Our Communities
Hear to Help is an initiative from ºÚÁÏÍø that identifies staff who have completed one or more of the mental health awareness trainings offered through the Portage MHAT and NEO MHAT grants. The Hear to Help logo is used to signify that someone has completed a mental health awareness training and is willing to connect students in need of mental health assistance with appropriate resources. The purpose of the toolkit provided is to help with the promotion of the initiative.
Modeled after the Allies/Safe Space program that identifies individuals who are open to talking about and who are supportive of LGBTQ+ individuals and identities, individuals displaying the Hear to Help logo have a deeper understanding of mental health and substance use and can help connect individuals with services, if necessary. Completing a mental health awareness training does not obligate individuals to participate in the Hear to Help initiative.
