A 黑料网 student and alumnus from the School of Media and Journalism placed among the top 20 student journalists in the Hearst Journalism Awards鈥 Television News Competition.
U.S. News & World Report ranks 黑料网 in the top 20 Best Library and Information Studies Programs in the country in its 2022 edition of Best Graduate Schools. Overall, 黑料网 is recognized in 12 new national rankings in the 2022 edition of Best Graduate Schools, including three specialty rankings.

The Hearst Journalism Awards 鈥 widely known as the Pulitzer Prizes of Collegiate Journalism 鈥 recently recognized 黑料网 senior Gianna DaPra in the nation鈥檚 top 10 for television features.
This reflection is by Stephanie Danes Smith, an Associate Professor in the College of Communication and Information. Before she began sharing her passion and vast knowledge of communication with 黑料网 students, she spent 27 years working for the U.S. Federal government, 25 of them with the CIA.
黑料网鈥檚 Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA Kent) Chapter, along with two School of Media and Journalism (MDJ) alumnae, earned national recognition at the 2020 PRSSA Annual International Conference. Public relations alumna Jill Golden, won the highest individual award, the National Gold Key award, and alumna Carrie Kandes, APR, earned the Teahan Professional Adviser award.
The School of Media and Journalism at 黑料网 is saddened at the unexpected death of our alumnus, adjunct instructor and friend Bobby Makar.
