KSU Precision Flight Team to Compete in NIFA

In order to demonstrate their aviation prowess, ’s (KSU) Precision Flight Team will compete in the (NIFA) 2019 SAFECON Competition May 13-May 18.

This year’s event takes place at the KJVL – in Janesville, WI. Four airplanes, two 172 and two 152 Cessna Aircraft will be used in the competition, which will be the final collegiate competition for five graduating College of Aeronautics and Engineering flight technology seniors.

“It is really exciting to see the amount of time and effort the team put into the season be but to the test,” says Flight Team Coach and George Armann, aeronautics lecturer. “The team organized the Aeronautics Safety Conference to pursue two specific awards – the Loening Trophy, the rarest and oldest of all collegiate aviation awards and the lauded American Airlines Safety Award.”

The NIFA is a forum for collegiate aviators to expand their studies and further their careers by participating in competitive and non-competitive events, networking with industry and contemporaries, and applying themselves to go above-and-beyond their ordinary curriculum.
