Juliette Streeter
Biography
Juliette, an Akron Native born and raised, has had the pleasure of serving and being a part of a program that guided her into her educational career. As an alumna of the Educational Talent Search, and a recipient of the many opportunities TRIO offered her at the University of Akron, she is honored to be a person who distributes the resources that were gifted to her many years ago.
Position
Juliette is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support for the Office of University Outreach and Engagement in the Michael Schwartz Center. She assists with communication and information exchange between the Academic Program Coordinators, Special Projects Coordinators, Directors, and other external agencies or contacts. She also provides support for the Liberation Learners Summer Institute as the Residence Hall Director. Juliette aids in the cultivation of college readiness, understanding of democracy, and how learners can engage in their communities within their own right through ºÚÁÏÍø.
Experience
Previously, Juliette served as an Outreach Specialist for the Minority Behavioral Health Group in Akron, Ohio for 2 years. She attended a plethora of community events to reach often underserved populations that don’t have access to mental health resources and bring awareness to the services that are available in the Summit, Stark, Cuyahoga, and Portage County areas. She also assisted with building connections and partnerships with organizations that looked to service those in need and had a desire to push wellness forward. Throughout Juliette’s college career, she had the privilege of serving as a Resident Assistant under the leadership of her Hall Director and Graduate Hall director. This hands-on experience at the collegiate level is what prepared her for the role she was appointed with at the Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop (YEPAW). As of August 2022, Juliette has served as the Residence Hall Director for YEPAW, a program that services populations of all backgrounds who have a heart for the arts with a Christian foundation. She was a member of the organization for 9 years before being graced with the opportunity to serve in the current role she occupies at present.
