Where did the time go?
It feels like I was just moving into my freshman dorm room!
College went by in the blink of an eye!
As a senior at ºÚÁÏÍø, I cannot help but to use these cliches. It really does feel like my time here has flown by. As graduation is approaching in only a few short days, I cannot express how thankful I am that we have the option to attend in-person and virtual commencement ceremonies.
To my peers in the Class of 2021, congratulations on one of our greatest accomplishments!
This year we will have in-person and virtual commencement ceremony options, and I’ll share some further details regarding our individual ceremonies later in this post. Here’s what you need to know!
Commencement Breakdown
In-Person Ceremonies
-
There will be outdoor commencement ceremonies at 1 p.m. May 10-14 and at 11 a.m. on May 15.

Ceremonies will be divided by colleges and degrees. Each ceremony will be held at the Centennial Court Green on Kent Campus, which is located on Midway Drive south of the Centennial Court Residence Halls.

More than 2,700 graduates will be on hand for the in-person ceremonies next week.

During the ceremony we ask for all students and guests to adhere to Flashes Safe Eight regulations to maintain safety:
-
Remember, physical distancing and masks are required.

Guests
-
Each student is allowed four tickets for visitors at their commencement ceremony.

These tickets will be distributed via email.

During the ceremony, graduates will be seated in pods with their four guests.

Commencement ceremonies will also be livestreamed for the guests who can’t make it in person.
Virtual Ceremonies

Along with having in-person commencement, all ceremonies will be available through live stream.
-
In addition, a virtual commencement recognition ceremony will go live at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. All live streams can be found here.
Stay Social
Whether you are celebrating on campus or online, you can show your ºÚÁÏÍø grad pride! Be sure to include #FlashesForever in any of your graduation social media posts. Your social posts could be featured in the live social media display during the ceremonies and on the ºÚÁÏÍø commencement website.
For those of you attending an in-person ceremony, be sure to look for our #FlashesForever filter on Snapchat.
We’ll also have Facebook profile frames for grads and their friends and family.
