Student research projects were showcased during the Student Research Colloquium held on April 11 at ºÚÁÏÍø at Tuscarawas.
Every fall semester, ºÚÁÏÍø Tuscarawas students are given the opportunity to submit a research proposal to the Student Affairs Committee which reviews and funds the proposals. Once selected, students work with a faculty mentor on rigorous and meaningful undergraduate research.
This year’s colloquium showcased the research of seven students with three projects. Four faculty mentors partnered with the students on their projects, including: Dr. Dhruba Panthi, assistant professor of engineering technology; Dr. Donald Gerbig, associate professor of biological sciences; Dr. Kurt Eisermann, assistant professor of biological sciences; and Amanda Hayes, associate professor of English.

The purposes of the Student Research Colloquium are to introduce students to the skills and methodologies of theoretical, applied, and/or basic research, to provide students with the opportunity to expand their academic involvement and experience beyond the classroom, and to strengthen collaboration among faculty and students by providing resources for research projects of mutual interest.
