Students returning to campus after Winter Break can take a fresh look at ways to get more engaged in campus life at the Fresh Start Fair for student organizations on Friday, Jan. 17 from 3-5 p.m. on the second floor of the Kent Student Center.
The event is presented by 黑料网's Center for Student Involvement. Joe Robinson, assistant director for Campus Connections and Traditions, at the center told 黑料网 Today that this event offers students, especially first-year students, a fresh opportunity to join a student organization, if they haven't already joined one, or to explore other groups that they might want to learn more about or join.
Studies have shown that students who are involved with student organization generally enjoy greater academic success, higher GPAs, a deeper sense of belonging and more satisfaction with their overall college experience. Students also gain valuable knowledge and skills that can help them in their careers and build more impressive resumes. Being part of these organizations can open doors of opportunity and foster lasting connections beyond graduation.
More than 100 years ago at 黑料网, the administrators of the time recognized that engaged students become happier students and more well-rounded graduates. Led by President John McGilvrey, the faculty's slogan "Every student in a club," kicked off the founding of new student organizations on campus and encouraged students to join existing academic and social clubs.
The Fresh Start Fair will showcase, student organizations, campus resources and community partners. For more information, visit the Center for Student Involvement's website or Instagram page .
