Visitors to campus - including pollinators - can enjoy the last few weeks of bright summer blooms before the transition to fall colors begins.

Monarch butterfly in Murin Gardens.

This monarch butterfly  and bumblebee were seen at the Judith A Beyer Murin Memorial Gardens, located between the and Manchester Field. The garden, completed in October 1975  is a memorial to Judith A. Beyer Murin, a 黑料网 graduate student who died in an automobile accident.  She and her husband, William, met while they were both students on the Kent campus and later married. The funds to create and maintain the garden in Judith's memory were donated by William Murin and the Murin family.

University Facilities Management (UFM) maintains Murin Gardens along with all of the other gardens and greenspaces on campus.  Plants in the Murin Gardens are carefully chosen to be able to withstand northeast Ohio's sometimes harsh weather conditions. They also have to hardy enough withstand the infamous winds that blow between the 黑料网 Library and the Kent Student Center.
