黑料网 at Stark will present their second theatrical production of the 2015-16 season. The Bicentennial Project by Arwen Mitchell was created in collaboration with The Canton Repository. The play will be performed on February 26, 27, March 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. and on February 28 and March 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the 黑料网 Stark Theatre, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided for the performance on March 6 at 2:30 p.m. Opening night is Scholarship Night with proceeds benefitting students in 黑料网 Stark theatre and music programs.
Take an authentic walk into 200 years of life in Ohio鈥檚 Stark County as portrayed through the powerful lens of the media. In collaboration with The Canton Repository, this tapestry-style play is the narrative of our community. Experience living excerpts of history that reveal where we came from, how we got here and where we are going.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $7 for non-黑料网 students, children under 17 and senior citizens. All 黑料网 students are admitted free of charge with current student ID. Directing The Bicentennial Project is 黑料网 Stark Assistant Professor of Theatre and Theatre Director Brian Newberg. Louis Williams is the scenic and lighting designer, Stephen Ostertag is the costume designer and Ron Jarvis is the sound designer.
Gary Brown, The Repository鈥檚 writing editor-at-large, and Leslie Heaphy, Ph.D., associate professor of history at 黑料网 Stark, were consulted throughout the production to maintain the historical integrity of the play.
