Quick Tip: Fall 2024 Online Teaching Workshops

In our last Quick Tip, we directed you to a helpful new resource for instructors as they consider course design and learning activities.  

We are happy to promote a series of workshops offered by the ºÚÁÏÍø Online team to further support those looking to apply the concepts from the Design, Build, and Teach pathways.  

These workshops will focus on the online environment, but the principles and strategies can be applied to hybrid and in-person courses as well.

  •  
    Tuesday, Sept. 24, 12:15-1:30

    In this session, participants will explore how online teaching is different, share tips for a successful experience, and discover ways to anticipate and overcome common challenges. Participants will identify helpful resources that are available to them as a KSU instructor and when they might access those resources as they teach their online course. Finally, participants will consider the student perspective and strategies that can encourage student success in their online course. 
     


  • Thursday, Oct. 24, 12:15-1:30

    In this session, participants will explore a range of communication methods and best practices that will help them create an enriching and interactive learning environment in their online course. Participants will also explore communication tools that are available in Canvas and other resources available to all KSU instructors.  
     


  • Tuesday, Nov. 19, 12:15-1:30

    Grading and providing feedback are vital steps in the learning process. In this session, participants will explore research-based best practices for how to grade and provide effective feedback to students in their online course. Participants will also discover various tools that they can use to grade and provide feedback through Canvas.
