Porthouse Will Hold Auditions for 2016 Season on February 6

Those auditioning are asked to register online

Porthouse Theatre, ’s outdoor, summer theatre located on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, will hold auditions for its 2016 season on February 6, 2016 at . The theatre’s 48th season will feature productions of “Sister Act,” “Ring of Fire,” and “Footloose.”

Auditions will be held Sat., Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at ’s Center for the Performing Arts. The Center for the Performing Arts is located at 1325 Theatre Drive, on the corner of Main St. and Horning Rd., in Kent, OH 44242.

Those interested in auditioning for Porthouse Theatre’s 2016 season are asked to visit to register for an audition. After registration is submitted, a Porthouse staff member will call to schedule an audition time. Those auditioning should be prepared to submit a headshot, resume, and short bio (no more than 150 words) during the registration process. The deadline to schedule an audition is 12 p.m. noon on Thurs., Feb. 4. Please contact Porthouse Theatre at porthouse@kent.edu or 330-672-3884 with any questions.

Those auditioning for the 2016 season are asked to bring hard copies of their resume and headshot to their audition. For the audition, please prepare two selections of 16 bars, one ballad and one up-tempo song. Selections may be from or in the style of any of the shows being produced during the 2016 season. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key for the accompanist provided.  A cappella singing will not be permitted.

Callbacks will be held Sat., Feb. 13 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at ’s Center for the Performing Arts. If needed, additional callbacks will be held on Sun., Feb.14, time TBD. Callbacks will include a dance call, singing and reading for individual parts.
