The ºÚÁÏÍø Retirees’ Association (KSURA) sponsors monthly presentations about topics of interest to retirees, as well as to the academic community of ºÚÁÏÍø and the public. These presentations are free and open to anyone who wishes to attend. On Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 3-5 p.m., physics professor and former director of the Liquid Crystal Institute, Dr. Oleg Lavrentovich, will make a presentation about the significant contribution made by ºÚÁÏÍø faculty to the development of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology, which has become the dominant type of display screen for various types of information and communications technologies.
In addition, since Dr. Lavrentovich is originally from Ukraine and he has just visited his home country this fall, he will also be speaking about the situation there and the state of the Russia-Ukraine war.
This presentation will be held in the meeting room on the second floor of the Kent Free Library at 312 West Main Street in Kent.
