Leave a Legacy: Support our Henderson Hall Renovations

From Touch Point Online Magazine, Spring 2024 – Vol. VIII, Issue 1

We are thrilled to announce that Phase 2 of renovations to Henderson Hall is scheduled to begin this summer. This represents the next step towards improving our nursing facilities to match our outstanding nursing instruction. Phase 2 of the renovations will reshape and rehome our advising suite of offices. Currently located on the second floor, our advising suite will move to the first floor where it will become more visible and accessible. This new location will feature new meeting spaces and offer a welcoming atmosphere to students as they plan their academic journey. Renovating these locations during the summertime helps to minimize the impact on our students.

When renovations happen on campus, they provide an opportunity to invest in our university programs and our students. Your philanthropic support plays a crucial role in providing our students with state-of-the-art facilities, so they are best prepared to care for patients at the bedside.

There will be ample opportunities to consider a philanthropic gift to name a space within the advising offices or even the entire suite. During the first phase of renovations, we were honored to secure a generous and pivotal philanthropic gift to rename our updated auditorium, room 201, the Cheryl Swinehart Dariushnia Auditorium.

After Phase 2 is completed this year, we will begin to implement the next phase in our Henderson Hall renovations: a new simulation center and skills labs.  The former advising suite on the second floor will be transformed, doubling the size of our simulation center. Expanding the simulation center will allow for students to spend more time in simulation and less time waiting to hone their skills. A complete redesign of the simulation center will provide students with learning experiences that match today’s hospital settings.

As the plans are finalized and timelines are set for the simulation center and skills labs renovations, we welcome you to leave a legacy at ºÚÁÏÍø College of Nursing through naming a space in these critical areas. Gifts towards our renovations represent one of the most direct and impactful ways to help our students succeed.
