Why Undecided Students Should Consider Attending ºÚÁÏÍø Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center

Dear Undecided Students,

With this summer quickly approaching its end, you may feel a lot of pressure to choose a college, but you're not alone in this journey. Of course, you're undecided on what do to, we're in the middle of a global pandemic, and it's stressful! Whether you just graduated or are looking to go back to school, there are many things that ºÚÁÏÍø Geauga and the Twinsburg Academic Center have to offer. Rather than treating this letter as a sales pitch, I want to tell you about some of the things that I love about ºÚÁÏÍø Geauga, as well as the things that contributed to my decision to come here.

First, everything is so personal, even in a sometimes virtual environment! What I mean by this is that during my freshman year, I had professors who knew my name that I did not even have for class. Additionally, I knew just about every professor in the building. That might not seem like a big deal at first, but when you go to schedule second-semester classes, you'll already have an idea of what you want to take and who you want to take it with—something you do not typically consider as a freshman is your resume. On a big campus, it can be hard to connect with the faculty in staff, which means you're less likely to get a reference letter from them when it's time to get a job after graduation. As I approach graduation in December, I have a list of 5-7 professors that I trust to write me great reference letters as I go through my job search. So, like I said, going to a campus that's personal is really helpful!

I've said it before, and you'll hear me say it approximately 100 more times: FREE PARKING! Take note of that because it is not cheap to park on most college campuses.

Tutoring? No problem. The great thing about ºÚÁÏÍø Geauga is that tutoring services are offered through both locations. While Fall 2020 may look different with services available mostly online, there are still some opportunities for in-person tutoring at both locations. Plus, when on campus, you don't have to walk 10 minutes in the cold to get from your class to your tutor! They're in the same building.

No one wants to be in debt upon graduation, it's supposed to be one of the most exciting moments of your life! Choosing ºÚÁÏÍø Geauga will alleviate that worry because it is 40% cheaper than ºÚÁÏÍø's Kent Campus.

Lastly, and what I found to be most important during my college experience is that I made lifelong friends. When you're on a small campus, it's basically impossible not to make at least one friend, and trust me when I say, having friends makes college so much easier! You automatically have a study buddy and someone to vent to if you're feeling overwhelmed, which is great because they'll actually understand because they are right there with you.

Are you decided yet? Seriously, picking a college and a major should not be stressful! You're about to approach the best years of your lives, and deciding where to spend them should be just enjoyable. I wish you nothing but the best in your decision-making process, but I really hope to see you on campus in the upcoming semester!
