Exploring the Future of Fashion with Local Students

On Friday, April 14th, ºÚÁÏÍø’s School of Fashion welcomed 8th-grade students from Streetsboro Middle School to explore and design in the KnitLab. Students got the chance to gain a better understanding of fashion, design and knitwear by participating in a variety of educational activities.

In the TechStyleLAB, students were introduced to CLO3D, a software that helps designers accurately visualize the fabric, fit and silhouette of their designs in real-time. Exploring how different materials and designs can be manipulated, the students participated in a 2D to 3D exercise. students draped different materials over objects to understand the connection between 2D shapes and 3D shapes. In the Design Innovation Hub, students were shown industrial knitting machines. they worked together to create a 2-color jacquard pattern on the software, which were knit by the machines.
