Jia Song is a senior at , majoring in communication with a minor in marketing and business. Song serves as a student member of the School of Communication Studies Marketing and Public Relations Team for fall 2015.
“I hope to improve my ability of communication skills and I also want to gain some work experience.” Song said.
As a practicum student, Song will write press releases or social media posts, create a LinkedIn profile and manage a blog.
During her time at , Song was a server of Rosie’s Diner from November 2012 to February 2014. She provided professional and friendly customer service to promote positive relationships, and prepared healthy food that catered to each customer’s special need. And then, from March 2014 until now, she is working at Starbucks Coffee as a cashier, responsible for greeting customers, providing them with information about products, responding to customers’ complaints and resolving their issues.
She is a member of Kent Communication Society, the National Communication Association Honor Society Lambda Pi Eta and The Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement as well. In her free time, she enjoys reading novels and working out. Song’s hometown is China. She plans to graduate in spring 2016.
