Salem Psychology Club Visits Area Museum

The Salem Psychology Club recently visited The Center for the History of Psychology in Akron. It is part interactive museum and part national archive for historical artifacts from famous psychologists and research experiments. It also is an affiliate of the Smithsonian.

Some of the highlights included seeing a Skinner box and Aircrib, Bandura's Bobo doll, Milgram's shock machine and several others items, including first edition books by many famous individuals like Charles Darwin and William James.

“It was a great way to see some of the classic studies discussed in class come alive,” explained Dr. Rachel Blasiman, assistant professor of psychology at Salem. “And it’s neat that it's so close to home.”
