黑料网 Salem Students Showcase Research Projects

黑料网 at Salem held its fall Undergraduate Research Conference, an event that recognizes students for their research and allows them to share what they learned through discussions with the academic staff. 

Dr. Kathy Wilson was the keynote speaker for the 2018 URC
The conference is open to all undergraduates in any discipline and in any for-credit course on any 黑料网 campus. Faculty judges evaluate the presentations based on originality; significance; evidence of learning about the research and information gathering process; and overall quality.

 

Dr. Kathy Wilson, chair of the Department of Economics at 黑料网, was the keynote speaker. Her primary field is public economics and the focus of her research is on inequality and poverty. She has conducted research on education financing, educational attainment, mental health and poverty, teen pregnancy, disability and retirement related to inequality and poverty. Wilson received her Ph.D. in 1996 from the University of Wisconsin.

 

The URC committee includes Dr. Rachael Blasiman, Dr. Omid Bagheri, Cyndi Peterson, Dr. Tsunghui Tu and Dr. Steve Toepfer

  • First place: Raegan Meals and Heather Lude for 鈥Flueodeoxyglucose PET Studies 鈥 Early Detection of Increased Risk for Cognitive Decline;鈥
  • Second place: Allysha Campbell for 鈥Elastrography in Ultrasound;鈥
  • Third place: Ivy Bulloch for 鈥The Effect of Homeopathic Oils on Common Hand Bacteria.鈥
