Studying for final exams wasn’t the only thing keeping nursing students busy on the East Liverpool Campus in recent weeks. The students also took time from their studies to help others from the community enjoy the holidays.
The Student Nurses Association at East Liverpool spearheaded a project to help provide gifts for 44 local children through the Salvation Army. Nursing students, faculty and staff participated in the outreach effort. They also collected hats, scarves, gloves and slippers. The collection was enough to “stuff a Jeep.”
Student nurses from the foundations of nursing class, taught by Angela Douglass, senior lecturer, hosted a party for the residents at the Assumption Village extended care facility in North Lima. The party included homemade cookies, crafts and holiday spirit and was part of the students’ clinical rotation.
